About Us (pictures at bottom of page)
My name is Gina! I got my first dog, Daisy a Border Collie mix, when I was 13. I showed her in 4H, taught her over 40 different tricks, she gave me the childhood companion every girl dreams of and started my passion and love for Border Collies.
Border Collies have the perfect combination of biddability, work ethic, drive, and personality that I can't find in any other breed. They are versatile and adaptable and can be used for just about anything.
My dog are a part of the family and spend their time in the house or outside with me and are crated or kenneled only when no one is home (which isn't very often). They are all very well socialized and well mannered and go everywhere with me. We primarily train and/or compete in dock diving, agility & herding but have also dabbled in disc, lure coursing and barnhunt. When they aren't training or competing my dogs demo for the obedience classes I teach.. We also do a lot of swimming, hiking and traveling in our spare time.
With my breeding program my goal is to produce healthy, stable dogs who will excel in any venue and be good active family pets. When breeding I factor in health, structure, personality, drive and energy level to produce puppies who are versatile and easy to live with and can train and compete in a variety of activities and environments. I will not breed a dog with arousal issues, a poor temperament or unsound structure as I believe those two things play a huge role in long term success.
I am a firm believer that genetics as well as socialization/exposure in the first 12 weeks of life has a huge impact in shaping a dogs future. My puppies are whelped and raised inside my home with ENS (Early Nuerological Stimulation) and Puppy Culture. Between 3-4 weeks they are introduced to puppy formula and wet food. The puppies are introduced to crates, car rides, clicker training, leash training and litter box training to encourage good housebreaking foundations. They are exposed to lots of people, different situations and sounds and handled and played with daily. I do a lot of recall games and attention building exercises... if you have a dog's attention you will set yourself up for success for the rest of their lives! Before they leave for their forever home, no sooner then 9 weeks of age ,they will have been dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked and BAER tested. All puppies will be ABCA and/or AKC registered.
When I do not have any puppies I enjoy fostering (both out of pocket and through rescue) and have taken in over 50+ dogs and puppies over the years.
For me - raising these beautiful dogs is a lifelong commitment...any puppy you purchase from me will always have a home here. If you are no longer able or willing to take care of it, it does not matter the circumstance, I will always welcome it back, no questions asked!
We are located in Southwest Ohio, between Dayton and Cincinnati. Feel free to contact if you have any comments, questions or just want to talk border collies!
